Brays Video Collection – English Phrasal Verbs, Calm down
Script (guión): Phrasal Verbs. These are at round about Cambridge PET level. First one, ‘Calm down’. Calm down means to become less excited, for example, or less upset.
For example, I have a friend called Goyo. Now Goyo is a fan of Real Madrid and he gets very, very excited when Real Madrid play and if the other team scores he gets very, very upset but he will do, he is only a young lad. He is only 82. So he does get worked up about Real Madrid. Now I was watching a match with him last season, it was Real Madrid and Barcelona and Barcelona scored so he was so fantastically upset you couldn't believe it. He got really, really upset. He was banging the tables, shouting at the referee and I said to him, I said: ‘Goyo, calm down, calm down, it's only 6’.
