Script (guión): Phrasal verbs ‘get over’, which has many different meanings.
Meaning one: to recover from something. For example, earlier this week I was feeling terrible. I had a terrible cold, but by the middle of the week, I got over it. I was feeling much better.
Next meaning: is to solve or find a solution. If you have problems with the computer, you might say, ‘We got over all the problems with the computer’.
Meaning three: to communicate, to make people understand. I speak clearly to get over my point of view.
Number four: to be shocked or surprised that something is real or true. I couldn't get over the football score last night. We won 10-1. This has never happened before with my team.
Meaning five: to get to the other side. We couldn't get over the other side of the river because the bridge was broken.
Meaning six: to come somewhere. My friend Dave called last night and I said, ‘Get over as soon as you can. I have a problem with the bath. It has overflowed and is coming through the ceiling and I need your help so get over quick.’
