Brays Video Collection – English Phrasal Verbs, Own up
Script (guión): Phrasal verbs, ‘own up’ which means to tell someone you've done something wrong or to admit that it was your fault.
When I was much younger, maybe four or five years old, there was a plant in my parents' house, which had a great big bulb coming out the top. I decided to pull it off to see what would happen. I realized straight away that I was in trouble. So I told my mother that my best friend had done it. He, of course, got into some serious trouble with his parents. After a week I felt quite guilty and admitted it was my fault. I owned up and said, ‘It was me.’
