EJEMPLOS:

'He plays football beautifully, but he plays basketball very badly.'
'She walked towards me very slowly.'
'That's a lovely watch, but it's terribly expensive!'

FORMA

La mayoría de los adverbios se forman añadiendo -LY al final de un adjetivo:
clear/clearly, wonderful/wonderfully, clever/cleverly, stupid/stupidly, interesting/interestingly, close/closely, dangerous/dangerously, bad/badly.
Si un adjetivo ya termina en -LY (ej FRIENDLY, LONELY) no puede convertirse en adverbio. En este caso tenemos que hacer una frase adverbial.

EJEMPLOS:

'He spoke in a friendly manner.'
'She laid there looking very lonely.'

En algunos casos, el adverbio es exactamente igual a su adjetivo correspondiente: EARLY, LATE, FAST, HARD, LEFT, RIGHT, WRONG, HIGH, LONG.

EJEMPLOS:

'I'm afraid the plane will leave late.'
'He cleans very fast.'

El adverbio del adjetivo GOOD es WELL.
'She is very a good dancer. She dances salsa very well.'

ADVERBS AND ADJECTIVES: TOO AND ENOUGH

USO: Se usan para hablar de adjetivos o adverbios en terminos de exceso (TOO), suficiencia (ENOUGH) o insuficiencia (NOT... ENOUGH).

FORMA + SIGNIFICADO: [TOO + Adjetivo o Adverbio] (EXCESO).

EJEMPLOS:

'This place is too expensive. This is the last time I come here!'
'I'm too thin; I must eat more!'

FORMA + SIGNIFICADO: [Adjetivo o adverbio + ENOUGH] (SUFICIENCIA).

EJEMPLO:

'Can you take that to the car?'
'Certainly, I'm strong enough'

FORMA + SIGNIFICADO: [NOT (-N'T) + Adjetivo o Adverbio + ENOUGH] (INSUFICIENCIA)

EJEMPLO:

'Don't play football there. The grass isn't dry enough!'

COMPARISON OF ADVERBS

USO: Se utilizan para comparar a dos SUJETOS que realizan la misma acción.

COMPARATIVE

FORMA: [SUJETO 1 + VERBO + MORE + Adverbio + THAN + SUJETO 2 (+DOES/CAN etc)...]

EJEMPLO:

I can dance more beautifully than you.

SUPERLATIVE

FORMA: [SUJETO 1 + VERBO + THE MOST + ADVERBIO (OF ALL)]

EJEMPLOS:

Ouf of all the people at work, Maria does her tasks the most carefully.

ADVERBIOS CON LA MISMA FORMA BASICA QUE LOS ADJETIVOS:

FORMA: Comparación: Anadir -ER

'I got up earlier than Ana did this morning, but Fred got up the earliest.'
