GRAMATICA INGLES present simple


USO: Para hablar de acciones que ocurren en cualquier momento, repetidamente o todo el tiempo.


STATEMENTS


AFFIRMATIVE

FORMA: Los verbos requieren una s al final en la tercera persona singular.

[SUJETO + VERBO(s) + RESTO DE LA FRASE]
I/You/We/They work in an office.
He/She/It has brown hair.

Los verbos que terminan en ss, sh, ch, x, o requieren es en la tercera persona singular:
kisses, matches, goes, watches.

Para los verbos que terminan en consonate + -y, cambie la y por ies:
carry/carries, try/tries, copy/copies.

NOTA: El presente simple por lo general se usa con adverbios y frases adverbiales que denotan frecuencia:
always, never, often, sometimes, usually, every day/week, on Sunday, twice a month, year etc.


NEGATIVE

FORMA: [SUJETO + DO NOT/DON'T + VERBO + RESTO]
                              DOES NOT/DOESN'T
I/You/We/They don't drive when I am drunk.
He/She/It doesn't have brown hair.


YES/NO QUESTIONS


FORMA: [DO + SUJETO + VERBO + RESTO DE LA FRASE]
Do I/you/we/they know him?

FORMA: [DOES + SUJETO + VERBO + RESTO DE LA FRASE]


WH-QUESTIONS


FORMA: Preguntas sobre el SUJETO: [PALABRA WH- + VERBO + RESTO DE LA FRASE]
Who lives there?

Preguntas acerca del resto de la frase: [PALABRA WH- + DO/DOES + VERBO]
Where does he live?
When do you leave?


ANSWERS


FORMA: [YES, SUJETO + DO/DOES]
Yes, I do.
Yes, he does

[NO, SUJETO + DON'T/DOESN'T]
No, we don't.
No, she doesn't.


TAG QUESTIONS


Si se espera un ‘si’ como respuesta: [FRASE AFIRMATIVA + DON'T/DOESN'T + SUJETO]
You fly, don't you?
Carl jogs, doesn't he?

Si se espera un ‘no’ como respuesta: [FRASE NEGATIVA + DO/DOES + SUJETO]
You don't drink, do you?
Mary doesn't jog, does she?

USO: El Presente Simple se utiliza para hablar acerca del tiempo en general, afirmaciones y acciones repetidas.

El Presente Progresivo se utiliza para hablar de situaciones y acciones mas temporales que estan ocurriendo mas o menos en el presente.


EJEMPLOS:


Presente Simple:
‘Dan plays football every Wednesday.’

Presente Progresivo:
‘She is playing football now.’

Presente Simple:
‘John speaks very good French.’

Presente Progresivo:
‘Now he is speaking French with that man.’
