TEORÍA

Gramática Inglés will would

USO: Usamos WILL para referirnos a la DISPOSICIÓN o CAPACIDAD de un sujeto para realizar una acción y, asimismo, para referirnos a ACCIONES y ESTADOS FUTUROS. WOULD se usa para describir COSTUMBRES y para hablar sobre ESTADOS y HECHOS HIPOTETICOS en el futuro. Tanto WILL como WOULD se usan para hacer SOLICITUDES y OFERTAS.

EJEMPLOS:

'I'll help you with your house tasks'
'My first motorbike would run for 100 km with a full tank of petrol.'
'Kids will often play with their food before eating it.'
'Dave, would you please stop doing that!'
'Don't worry; I'll explain the exercise again if you find it difficult to understand.'
'The plane will arrive at 10.00.'
'I wouldn't do that if I where you.'

AFFIRMATIVE and NEGATIVE

WILL + NOT a menudo se abrevia a WON'T
WOULD + NOT a menudo se abrevia a WOULDN'T

USO: Will a menudo se usa para hacer una oferta y preguntarle a alguien si esta dispuesto a hacer algo.

EJEMPLOS:

'I'll help you with your house tasks'
'Will you lend money so I can buy a computer'

WOULD se usa en la forma PRETERITA de WILL y para pedirle muy cortesmente a alguien si esta dispuesto a hacer algo

EJEMPLOS:

'Would you, please, give me some bread.'
'Excuse me, would you stop smoking, please?'

WON'T y WOULDN'T a menudo se usan para describir una negación.

EJEMPLOS:

'She won't do her work even when I asked her politely.'
'He wouldn't lend me his computer, although I asked very nicely if I could.'

USO: WILL se usa en el afirmativo, negativo e interrogativo para hablar sobre la HABILIDAD o CAPACIDAD de un sujeto para hacer algo. En este caso, generalmente hablamos sobre una maquina u otros objetos.

EJEMPLOS:

'This car will hold 30 liters of petrol.'
'My bike is broken; it won't work.'
'Will this watch work under water?'

Usamos WOULD de la misma forma para hablar sobre el PASADO.

EJEMPLOS:

'My first mobile phone's battery would last for 3 days with one recharge.'
'When I tried to get into my house, the door wouldn't open.'

USO: Usamos WILL en el afirmativo y negativo para hablar sobre un comportamiento reiterado y habitual.

EJEMPLO:

'Chris will often hide something from his parents, and then forget where it is.'

Cuando el sujeto del verbo es una persona, el uso de WILL a menudo sugiere que el hablante esta levemente molesto por la acción.

EJEMPLO:

'He's very bright, but he will frequently interrupt me during the lesson.'

Usamos WOULD en el afirmativo o negativo para hablar sobre COSTUMBRES y HABITOS PASADOS.

EJEMPLOS:

'When I was younger, I would play football until very late at night.'
'The Indians would paint their faces before battle.'

Las formas interrogativas de WILL y WOULD se usan para solicitar.

EJEMPLOS:

'Will you give me that pen, please?'
'Hey, will you shut up!'

Tome nota de que WOULD es mucho más cortes que WILL y normalmente se usa al hablar con desconocidos.

WOULD YOU MIND + VERBO-ing es una forma más cortes aun de solicitar a alguien que haga algo.

EJEMPLO:

'Excuse me, would you mind speaking louder?'

WOULD YOU MIND IF + SUJETO + VERBO [forma pasada].. ? es una forma muy cortes de pedir permiso para hacer algo.

USO: WILL y WON'T se usan para hablar sobre estados o hechos que ocurriran en algun momento futuro.

EJEMPLOS:

'How will you pass the test without studying?'
'He won't be at work next week.'
'I will never forget you.'

En el inglés oral, WILL y WON'T a menudo se usan en una oración subordinada, cuando la oración principal describe la disposición o pensamiento del sujeto en relación al estado.

EJEMPLOS:

'She hopes you won't be be nasty to her.'
'I'm sure he'll arrive in no time.'

WOULD y WOULDN'T se usan en el modo indirecto cuando repetimos algo que se dijo sobre el futuro.

EJEMPLOS:

'She hit me and told me that she would always hate me.'
'A few says ago he told me that he wouldn't come to tomorrow's party.'


WILL/WOULD - CONDITIONALs

WILL y WON'T se usan en oraciones subordinadas para referirse a los resultados de condiciones presentes o futuras posibles que se describen en la oración principal. La oración principal normalmente comienza con IF o UNLESS, y contiene un verbo que asume una forma PRESENTE, incluso si se refiere al futuro.

EJEMPLOS:

'If I become a football player, I'll give you tickets to all the games.'
'What will you do if you lose your job?'
'I'll give up acting and study business instead.'

WOULD y WOULDN'T se usan para describir los resultados de condiciones imposibles, irreales o muy improbables, presentes o futuras, que se describen en la oración principal, normalmente asume una forma PASADA, aunque se refiere al presente o futuro.

EJEMPLO:

'I love you! I would never leave you even if you had a deadly virus!'
