Script (guión): Idioms, ‘a little bird told me’. If someone doesn't want to say where they got their information from they can say a little bird told them. For example, if Emma finds out from her mother that her sister Linda has a new boyfriend and she goes to confront Linda about this, she may say, ‘I hear you have a new boyfriend?’
To which Linda may reply, ‘Who told you?’
‘A little bird told me, what's he like?’
‘Oh well, he's a wrestler, well he used to be a wrestler but now he sells hotdogs. He's really nice!’
